Nabinagar Developments...
An open discussion on Infrastructure Development of Nabinagar Upazila was held at NOVO Tower, Tejgaon at 6:00 PM, 05.11.10. Honorable State Minister of Freedom Fight Affairs Captain (Rtd.) A B Tajul Islam, MP was the key person on the discussion. Chief Engineer, LGED and DPHE were the guest on the discussion. Nabinagar Awamileague leader Abaidul Karim Bulbul, Abdul Halim, Borhanuddin, Habibur Rahman, Executive Engineer (LGED, B.baria), Upazila Chairman, UNO, Upazila Engineer, OC of Nabinagar, Union Chairmen, Union and local Awamileague leaders were present on the discussion. Honorable State Minister and Chief Engineer (LGED) have given words to develop major important roads under LGED to connect different unions with district H/Q and Upazila H/Q directly with in the tenure of this government.

DC Brahmanbaria inaugurated Biddakut Union Information Service Center on 24.10.10 UNO and Upazila Chairman were present.
13 nos Union Information Service Center were inaugurated on 25.10.10 by UNO and Upazila Chairman and other officers . All 20 nos Union Information Service Center are now on operation.

Nabinagar : Sur Somrat Ostad Allauddin Kha’s holy birth place Nabinagar upazila under Brahmanbaria district has a very rich and long historic value. Many talents born on this land. Nabinagar Upazila with an area of 353.66 sq km is bounded by Brahmanbaria Sadar and Raipura upazilas on the north, Muradnagar upazila on the south, Kashba and Brahmanbaria Sadar upazilas on the east, Bancharampur and Raipura upazilas on the west. Main rivers are Meghna,Titas, Pagla and Buri; Bagdahar and Kurighar Beel is impressive.


Titas River one of the trans-boundary rivers of Bangladesh, originates from the hills of Tripura State in India. Flowing west near Agartala (India), the Titas enters Bangladesh through akhaura and falls into the meghna river south of Ashuganj. The total length of the river is about 98 km.
One of the offshoots of the Meghna river is also named as the Titas which branches out from the Meghna at Chatlapur and again meets the Meghna at nabinagar

As of the 1991 Bangladesh census, Nabinagar has a population of 378,539. Males constitute 50.56% of the population, and females 49.44%. The population of those aged 18+ is 174,748. Nabinagar has an average literacy rate of 27.4% (7+ years), while the national literacy rate averages 32.4%.
